Andrew Moczygemba
Founder & Principal, Rothwell Operating Partners
Rothwell Operating Partners is an operating advisory firm founded and led by Andrew Moczygemba. It works inside privately held manufacturers, brands and distributors on commercial growth, operations, executive leadership, and ownership transitions, most often in outdoor recreation, off-road and overland, and steel, metals, and recycling. The firm exists so an owner can put an experienced operator on the problem without waiting to afford a full-time executive.
Business leadership
Andrew has spent more than twenty years running consumer-products businesses: as a general manager, a chief operating officer, a chief executive, and the person accountable for the commercial side of companies that make and sell hard goods. He began his career in powersports retail operations as a general manager of multiple dealerships, and moved into the outdoor industry in 2005, where he has led manufacturers and brands through growth, international expansion, turnaround, and sale. His work has run from the factory floor to national retail accounts to the boardroom, and most of it has been inside founder-led companies.
Commercial growth and channel development
The commercial record, stated as it appears on Selected Work. Andrew owned the commercial build that took a product line from $90K to $2.1M in US revenue, creating national dealer, distributor, and major national retail relationships where there had been no national footprint. He founded and ran a US subsidiary for a foreign parent, from entity and operations to commercial launch: $700K of revenue in the first month and $5.1M in the first ten months. He built and ran an Amazon channel and its operating model for a single brand, from zero to $5.3M. In each case the role was ownership of the commercial build and the operating model behind it.
P&L and operating accountability
Andrew has held the P&L. As the operating leader with full profit-and-loss ownership of a consumer-products company that was losing money, he took EBITDA from a $225K loss to $1.3M, roughly a $1.5M swing, and the business went on to a successful sale. That operating ownership, across planning, supply chain, systems, the people in the seats, and the metrics an owner can trust, is what Rothwell’s Embedded Operations and fractional executive seats are built on.
Ownership transitions and transaction experience
Andrew has taken three founder-led businesses through a sale, to a publicly traded company, an international private-equity firm, and a family office. His direct responsibility on each was the operating side: building the reporting the buyers required, managing the diligence project inside the company, and advising the owner through negotiation and close. The owners made the decisions; investment bankers ran the transaction processes; legal counsel and accountants handled the legal, tax, and financial work. All three closed. Rothwell’s Acquisition Readiness practice is that operating-side work, started earlier, for owners who want the process to go the same way.
Industry experience
Andrew’s own industry is outdoor recreation: marine and paddlesports, fishing and hunting, camping, racks and carriers, and powersports, where he has run the businesses, built the channels, and sold the companies. Rothwell also brings industry experience across the steel, metals, and recycling supply chain, including service centers, scrap processing, distribution, and fabrication. Its off-road and overland practice sits where outdoor products, automotive aftermarket accessories, metals and manufacturing meet. That experience informs the firm’s work on commercial execution, operating discipline, inventory, and ownership transitions. Each industry has its own page describing the problems Rothwell takes on there and who the work is for.
How Rothwell delivers engagements
Every engagement has a designated senior operating lead accountable for the relationship and delivery. Where specialist expertise is required, Rothwell may engage qualified independent specialists for defined work, in disciplines such as ecommerce, technology, analytics, and executive development; they are engaged for the work at hand, and the scope says who is doing what. Every engagement runs on a written scope that sets responsibilities, authority, success measures, review points, and commercial terms before the work starts. How Rothwell Works describes the engagement from the first conversation to the handoff.
The firm
Rothwell Operating Partners was founded in 2026 and works with owner-operated, professionally managed, and investor-backed businesses in the United States. It takes written responsibility for defined operating work and does it inside the business, alongside the owner’s banker, attorney, and CPA where a transaction is involved.
